In brief: Karburo works without an account. The vehicle profile, favourites, fill-up history and preferences remain primarily on the device. Precise location is used to answer a search and is not kept as a history of movements. Optional measurement and advertising are only activated after the user's choice.
The controller for the processing described here is the publisher of the Karburo application, identified on its official store listing. For any question or request relating to personal data: rgpd@karburo.io.
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Location or city searched | Display relevant stations, prices, charging points and routes. The precise position is processed for the time needed to answer the request, without building any history of movements. | Performance of the requested service; system authorisation for GPS access |
| Vehicle profile, preferences, favourites and fill-up log | Personalise calculations and keep the user's choices. These items are stored locally on the device, except when a requested feature requires a one-off transmission. | Performance of the requested service |
| Alert rules and technical notification address | Send the notifications enabled by the user, including when the application is closed. | Consent and performance of the enabled feature |
| Limited technical identifiers and usage counters | Apply quotas, prevent duplicates and abuse, secure the service and, with agreement, measure usage and performance. | Legitimate interest in security; consent for optional measurement |
| Content of a report | Verify and moderate a reported price or availability. The user must not include any personal data in the comment. | Legitimate interest in maintaining service quality |
| Subscription status and technical purchase reference | Activate Premium, restore a purchase and prevent fraud. Karburo does not receive any bank card data. | Performance of the subscription contract |
Location, notification, measurement and advertising permissions are optional. Refusing them may disable the feature concerned, but manual search and the essential features remain available.
Depending on the features used, the strictly necessary data may be received by the following categories of providers:
Loading map tiles or external content may make the IP address visible to the provider concerned. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; they must then rely on a recognised transfer mechanism and their own contractual safeguards.
The Free version may display advertising in identified placements. The website uses fixed Display formats; the native application uses Google AdMob. Premium triggers no advertising request in the application.
Where consent is required, no advertising request is launched before the user's choice. Refusal does not prevent the use of essential features. Choices can be changed at any time in Settings → Privacy or via the website's consent manager.
Depending on the processing concerned, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to the processing. Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time, without affecting operations carried out previously.
Local data can be exported or deleted directly from Settings → Privacy. For data processed on the server side, write to rgpd@karburo.io. A response is provided within the legal timeframe, subject to being able to reasonably verify the request.
You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or with the competent data protection authority in your country.
Forecasts and recommendations are probabilistic estimates intended to help decision-making. They produce no legal effect and guarantee neither a future price nor the availability of a station. The user remains free to decide.
This policy may change if the features, recipients or regulations change. The date above indicates the applicable version; any significant change will be signalled by an appropriate means.
